Who is the moderator of this forum?

Freedom of expression is prevalent here. The moderator seems good unlike Mahindra Rajapaksha and the LTTE!

Mr. Jeyaraj must know that nothing will materialise as long as Prapakaran and LTTE are in charge. No point in blaming Singalese for Tamil stubbornness.

Much as I empathise with some of the ultra - Tamil nationalist comments made here I must confess that I am puzzled by the seeming suspension of disbelief in those.

These commentators go on as if there was a choice between establishing Tamil Eelam through force and accepting a federal solution within a united Sri Lanka;

In my view there is no choice because choice does not exist. The Tamil militant groups collectively and the LTTE single - handedly have destroyed all such possibilities.

The reality today is that India and the International Community will not tolerate a Tamil state in the Island. Continuing to fight therefore is to take on not only Sri Lanka but the entire world. Already the world is backing the Colombo regime in many ways.

The world is only against a separate state but it is for Tamil equality in the Island. If the LTTE declares a moratorium on the fighting and opts for a federal solution even as a tactic it will have the world on its side. Also the hardline Rajapakse regime will be isolated.

But the LTTE instead of pursuing a rational course follows a suicidal path. Its supporters are cut off from reality while commenting here.

These are symptoms of irrational logic. We have to be rational.

I agree with comments #31, and 32. We had many round table conferences, then peace packages, now APRC. All design to do the same, just to deceive Tamils, now Tamils, and IC. This can’t go on any longer as we are faced with total extinction as a community in Sri Lanka. Only we, Tamils can save ourselves by any means.

Dear DBSJ,

This is a paramount, well-understood by all truth that 'Medamulana' Mahinda uses the APRC as a cosmetic exercise to hoodwink the IC in part, and con the world in whole.

He will continue with his myopic 'chinthana' without hesistance and thereby forclose any chance of a viable and acceptable option emerging from it.

Unless otherwise the LTTE outsmart him militarily, there is no silver lining in gloomy srilankan political sky.

May The Almighty Bless the Tamils!

Prabaharan on 27th November last year:
It is now crystal clear that the Sinhala leaders will never put forward a just resolution to the Tamil national question. Therefore, we are not prepared to place our trust in the impossible and walk along the same old futile path?. We therefore ask the international community and the countries of the world that respect justice to recognize our freedom struggle.? This is the key sections of the annual Heroes` Day statement delivered by the leader of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), V. Pirapaharan.

Dr. A.R.M.Imtiyaz : This statement is strong in its message and accurate in its agendas.

My point is here is that the birth of Tamil Tiger movement has roots in Sri Lanka 's history. In my understanding, they are the byproduct of five decades' old failed politics and policies of the Sinhalese political class. There was not an overnight decision among the ordinary Tamils to approve the agendas of the Tamil Tigers: the failure of Sri Lankan polity to meet the demands of the Tamil moderates was a key foundation for the origin of the Tamil extremism in Sri Lanka . Instead of listening to the Tamil leaders and accommodating their reasonable demands, the Sinhalese ruling leaders of the time assaulted and stoned the Tamils and their leaders, and even hired the Sinhalese to become butchers to kill innocent Tamils and moderate leaders.

Tamil academics : Strengthen the Hands of LTTE

the international community for acting not only without a sense of morality but also without a sense of reality.

Defying the ban of LTTE, and other restrictions placed on the freedom of expression of the Tamils living in EEC nations, Britain, USA, and Canada, Tamils everywhere must strengthen the hands of the LTTE that the demonic powers that seek to destroy the Tamil and decimate the Tamil population in Tamil Eelam. We must act in unison to save the Tamil race and nation from extinction.

If the Sinhala political leaders and the unpredictable leadership of the Buddhist clergy see the wisdom of "coming colours" like
the 3 Musketeers (18 & 22) and Bandula J (26) here have done then Sri Lanka has a good chance to end up as the "New South East Asian Miracle" when, hopefully, the obdurate Sinhala leadership will recognise the North-East as part of Sri Lanka and make immediate and substantial funds to develop the region so that the long suffering Tamils there will once again have reason to feel being part of a truly Sri Lankan family. The South will then bloom with tourism and fresh investments. Unemployment will come down.

Our poor sisters and brothers - now working as slaves under the poorest conditions in the inhospitable Middle East with their families here broken - will return to build a new Sri Lanka where their labour will be accepted with honour and diignity.

The Sinhalese can again go to Nagadipa and the rest of North-East without hesitation and Tamils can settle and move around freely anywhere in the South without the indignity of insults in Check-points, brutal incarceration in Police Stations, abductions; where uniformed men now serving with fear in the North-East can return to their homes and families and more productive employment sans their uniforms. Where Sri Lanka will have a more friendly and meaningful National Flag and a National Anthem sung in 3 languages. It will be Sri Lanka that is the object of all simple, peace and innocent Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and others in this lovely land.
